Creathadh Energies is funded with a Phase I National Science Foundation SBIR grant. It was founded to commercialize its founder James McCullagh’s PhD research in vibration energy harvesting originating at the University of Michigan.
This research’s sponsors include the National Science Foundation, the Department of Education, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Technology
Originally developed for vibration energy harvesting on suspension bridges, Creathadh Energies has developed a novel patented interface circuit of an electromagnetic vibration energy harvester. We pivoted to wearables for athletes because of the similarities between the frequency profiles of cars going over a suspension bridge and an athlete training.
